Climate Change Freshwater Management and Science

An event on climate change, freshwater management, and the role of science
will take place on Tuesday March 13th between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM at the Vivian and David Campbell Conference Facility, the Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada. The reception will begin at 8:30 am, followed by the panel discussion at 9:30 am.

This event will examine the effects and impacts of climate change on Canada’s water resources. The role that scientific research and monitoring play in understanding the state of freshwater resources and informing policy and program decisions will be explored as well as the important linkages between water use and the natural resource sectors in Canada.

The presentations will draw on recent reports released by the three speakers: Scott Vaughan, the federal Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development, Gord Miller, the Environment Commissioner for Ontario, and David McLaughlin, the President and CEO of the national Roundtable on the Environment and the Economy.
