Event - Companies & Causes Canada Speaker Line-up

Here is the October 28th Companies & Causes Canada conference speaker line-up scheduled to take place in Toronto, Canada at the Toronto Board of Trade. Here are just a few of the amazing faculty members that you'll be learning from when you register for this event:

Albe Zakes, Global VP of Communications, TerraCycle Recently named one of the PR News “Rising Stars of PR 2012”, a PR News “Social Media MVP for 2014”, Albe rose from marketing department intern to become Global Vice President of Communications, for TerraCycle, a fast-growing, innovative recycling company based in Trenton, NJ. Since 2007.

Andrea Donlan, Chief Executive Officer, Manifest Communications Inc. Manifest is a full-service social change agency located in Toronto, Canada. Andrea is responsible for providing overall corporate leadership as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company. Since joining Manifest in 1996, Andrea has spearheaded the development, management and implementation of more than 100 national and regional social change campaigns.

Angela Sarino, Senior Director, Sponsorship Marketing, CIBC Angela Sarino is Senior Director, Sponsorship Marketing for CIBC and has been a member of the CIBC team since 1998. Angela has held a variety of roles in communications, community investment and national sponsorship. She is currently responsible for the oversight and execution of the national cultural, cause and business development strategies.

Angela Simo Brown, Head Social Change Strategy, Co-Founder Air Miles for Social Change, LoyaltyOne Co-Founder and General Manager of AIR MILES for Social Change. AIR MILES for Social Change is a division of the AIR MILES® Reward Program, operated by LoyaltyOne, Inc. which is a global provider of coalition loyalty, customer analytics and custom loyalty services. AIR MILES for Social Change partners with government agencies, energy utilities, and transit service.

Aria Finger COO, and President, TMI As Chief Operating Officer, Aria Finger oversees the business development, finance and campaigns departments at, the national not-for-profit that empowers millions of young people to take action around causes they are passionate about. With her cause-related marketing experience, Finger has managed initiatives with Johnson & Johnson, Aéropostale, Sprint, American Express and other top brands.

Barbara Brooks, Vice President Marketing, Ipsos Reid Barbara Brooks Vice President Marketing, Ipsos Canada Barbara Brooks, who is based in Toronto, is a Vice President in the Marketing division of Ipsos, one of the world’s largest and most innovative research firms. She comes to Ipsos fresh from being an independent businesswoman and armed with over fifteen years of past experience.

Bart Given, Managing Director & Chief Innovator, TORQUE Strategies Tapped to lead TORQUE Strategies in early 2014, Bart was previously a Senior Partner at the TwentyTen Group. While at TTG, he was responsible for Growth and Client Services through an impressive development phase for the team and was a proud member of the Canadian Olympic Committee account.

Brian Collins Manager, Corporate Sponsorships, Purolator, Inc. Brian Collins is the Manager, Corporate Sponsorship for Purolator. In this role Brian is responsible for the strategic direction and activation of Purolator’s Sponsorship, Hospitality and Philanthropic portfolio. Brian has been at Purolator since 2006, working closely on a number of marketing programs including the award-winning Purolator Tackle Hunger program.

Chris Jarvis, Co-Founder and Senior Partner, Realized Worth Chris Jarvis is a co-founder and Senior Partner of Realized Worth, a consulting firm focused on engaging employees in Corporate Citizenship programs. Widely known for his thought-leadership in employee volunteering, workplace giving and corporate social responsibility, Chris has also worked with the United Nations Office of Partnerships.

David Hessekiel, Founder and President, Cause Marketing Forum Cause Marketing Forum President David Hessekiel came to the field of “doing well by doing good” after years of volunteering for good causes and a career in journalism, publishing and consumer marketing. In the months after 9/11, he identified a growing business need: a clearinghouse where corporations and nonprofits would find the building blocks of cause marketing.

David Hughes, SVP, Strategic Partnerships & Branding, YMCA Canada Mr. Hughes is Senior Vice-President, Strategic Partnerships & Branding, YMCA Canada. He was the Founder of YouthBuild Canada and has served as President & CEO of Pathways to Education Canada. He was President & CEO of Habitat for Humanity Canada. Prior to that, Mr. Hughes worked for the international headquarters of the SOS Children’s Villages.

Dee Diaz, Vice President of Development & Marketing, War Child Canada As Vice President of Development + Marketing, Dee Diaz is responsible for leading the organization’s donor engagement through a variety of inspired and informed opportunities of giving to War Child’s mission. Dee brings over 15 years of fundraising and marketing experience with a particular focus on corporate development, cause-related marketing, and creative business re-engineering.

Jeronimo De Miguel, VP, Branding & Creative, Manulife Financial Jeronimo De Miguel joined Manulife Financial in 2006 after graduating with an MBA in Finance from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He has had a number of finance-related roles within Manulife since that time including Director of Investor Relations, Director of Financial Reporting & Planning and Assistant Vice President.

Jill Schnarr, Vice President, Community Affairs, TELUS As Vice President, Community Affairs, Jill Schnarr leads global community investment and corporate social responsibility at TELUS. She is the Executive Director of the TELUS Foundation and the national Chair of Connections, the TELUS women’s network. Jill is a strong, dynamic and engaging leader with a natural ability to build business strategy and success.

John Coyne VP, Legal & External Affairs and General Counsel Unilever Canada Inc. Since 1992, John has been actively involved in the evolution of Unilever Canada through his leadership and participation in a wide range of transactions and reorganizations. Today, John provides leadership across the business, working with professionals and multi-disciplinary teams in law, corporate and government relations, regulatory affairs, quality assurance and safety.

John Hartman, Chief Operating Officer, Children’s Miracle Network, Canada Children’s Miracle Network is an organization dedicated to generating funds and awareness for children’s hospitals and healthcare. In John’s current capacity he oversees all operations, planning and aspects of the business in Canada as well as any developing opportunity outside of North America.

Karine Zanier, Director, Sponsorships, Sun Life Financial With over 12 years’ professional experience, Karine Zanier brings a unique quality to the sponsorship and events platform having held positions on the client, agency and property side. Actively involved in the Sports and Entertainment industry, Karine currently holds the position of Director, Sponsorship with Sun Life Financial.

Kristin Jenkins, Vice President of Communications at the Ontario Power Authority Kristin Jenkins is the Vice President of Communications at the Ontario Power Authority (OPA). Her responsibilities include communications, corporate marketing, and community and stakeholder relations. Ms. Jenkins joined the OPA in 2009 with over 18 years of experience in senior communications and public affairs positions in a number of public sector agencies.

Kyle Winters, VP, Corporate Partnerships, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Kyle Winters is a seasoned professional in the field of Corporate Partnerships and Fundraising. Prior to assuming his current post as Vice President, Corporate Partnerships with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada he spent 13 of 25 years at the University of Toronto establishing sponsorship relationships – specializing in the marketing and management.

Landon French VP, Community Relations, Canadian Tire Corporation & Executive Director, Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities Landon French is Vice-President, Community Relations and Executive Director of Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities managing Canada’s largest portfolio of community partnerships. Since joining Canadian Tire in 2010, Landon has been driven to help the Canadian Tire Family of Companies maximize community related assets and activities.

Megan Strand, Communications Director, Cause Marketing Forum Megan Strand is Canada country director and director of communications for the Cause Marketing Forum. At CMF, she sources and produces quality content for cause marketers via the company’s website, blog, and social media outposts. She’s also co-host of the Cause Talk Radio podcast.

Paul Estey, Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer, Public Inc. As Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer at Public Inc., Paul plays a central role in developing campaign concepts and initiatives for clients and leads the incubation of internally developed projects inside the Public Impact Lab. A gifted “numbers guy”, Paul turned his math degree into a successful career as a management consultant at the Monitor.

Phillip Haid, Co-Founder and CEO, Public Inc. As Co-Founder and CEO, Phillip plays a major role in building Public’s profile and network across North America. In addition to managing the operations and growth of the company, he is actively involved in business development, and thoroughly enjoys “getting his hands dirty” developing campaigns and initiatives for several of PUBLIC’s key clients.

Sue Tobias, Principal, Mission Measurement As a Principal with Mission Measurement Sue specializes in developing social innovation strategies that are tied directly to business impact for corporate clients. She brings years of global consulting experience to her work, and leverages her expertise in economic analysis, consumer insights, and strategy to help clients capitalize on social impact programs.
